Thanksgiving

By Jenny | December 3, 2005

Wow! What an awesome time we had in Florida for Thanksgiving. Megan had flown up here to Raleigh the Saturday before, and Leslie and Robby drove down from Pennsylvania on Monday…then on Tuesday we all drove to Florida together. We had a wonderful time catching up on things and getting to know Robby. Once in Florida it was great to see Mom and Dad and all of our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins….and there are a lot of them! We went shopping with all of our cousins on Wednesday (to avoid the mall on Black Friday), and that was quite an adventure - so many Lee girls in one mall…what fun!!! Thanksgiving Day was AMAZING! Mawmaw had made all kinds of delicious pies. We had a feast set before us. The best part was being with fifty-some family members and celebrating God’s goodness together. I feel so blessed to have been born into this family! On Friday Robby’s family came into town and we went to St. Augustine. It was beautifully lit up for Christmas! We enjoyed spending time with them. Saturday we all drove back home. It’s always sad to see Mom and Dad and Les and Meg drive away…knowing that I won’t see them for a while. But it was good to get back to Raleigh. God has really given us great friends, great jobs, a cozy apartment, and a wonderful church that have all helped make Raleigh, NC our home.

This past week has been a little difficult with a paper and project due, but finals are next week and I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m looking forward to being out of school and having time to enjoy baking Christmas cookies.
