A Cool Morning in North Carolina

By Jenny | January 14, 2006

Good morning! It is a nice, cool morning here in Raleigh, NC. A nice change from the 70-degree weather we’ve had lately - in JANUARY! Well, I guess it wasn’t too bad…the last several days have been beautiful…it’s just that I prefer to wear my sweaters and scarves, etc.

We had some friends over last night and enjoyed dinner with them. Nathan made his delicious shish kabobs and we just had fun sitting around and talking with Paul and Mandy. We slept in this morning, and as Nathan is still snoozing away I’m sipping my Hot Caramel Apple Cider in my Starbucks mug and watching the kitties chase each other around the apartment. They’re so much fun to watch! They enjoyed having company last night - that meant two more people to play with.

Today we plan to head over to the Burtons for a day of games and fellowship. We had dinner with them Wednesday night after David returned from a two-week mission trip to Turkey. And guess what my friend David did? He brought me something back! A beautiful pashmine and a cookbook from Central Asia…I already have a few recipes I’d like to try. David, who says the trip was life-changing, has reminded us of the extravagant lifestyle we Americans live compared to the missionaries he met in Turkey. How often do I take things for granted? Every day, I’m sure. God has blessed us with so much, and Nathan and I are trying to be more aware of the everyday things for which we should be thankful. One thing we are both very grateful for is the family and friends God has given us. You’re the best! Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

Truly we do have so much to be thankful for. Everytime I take a hot bath or go to the sink for a clean glass of water, I am thankful. David and I too are more thankful than you know for the friendship of Nathan and Jenny Miller…….to see such young people of such quality and character is rare indeed. Priceless gems, I’d say. I am still amazed beyond beliefe that Jen and Nate being so young, that they could be such an example and testimany to me at 41?! Surly this speaks of their parents. So many qualities and blessings I could write about them, yet I fear it would require a whole new web site!
Nate and Jen you are both precious, beautiful people reflecting His image. You are loved!!!
