I Love Fall

October is here, and I’m loving it! If you know me well, you probably know that I absolutely love the fall and winter. I enjoy the cool, crisp mornings and the breezy clear fall days. I enjoy sipping warm cider or coffee on a Saturday morning. I like to take walks and notice the colorful fall leaves. I love seeing all the fall décor – the pumpkins, gourds, hay, and corn. The autumn colors – burgundy, orange, yellow – make me smile. So imagine my delight when my husband took me to a pumpkin patch yesterday morning. I had already gotten two pumpkins at Wal-mart, but a pumpkin patch is just another experience entirely. We got 12 miniature pumpkins and 4 gourds. I already had a number of gourds from Nathan’s grandparents’ garden in Salem, Virginia. Nathan picked out a very handsome, very large pumpkin as well. It weighed in at THIRTY-SEVEN POUNDS!!! We had so much fun arranging them in the house! Nathan helped me cut out the tops of a few of the miniature pumpkins to make tea light holders (an idea I saw in Family Circle magazine). Look how cute!!

Thanks for sharing the picture. As you know, I too love Fall. I think I’ll have to copy the idea with the miniature pumpkins and the tealights. Look forward to seeing you and Nathan in a few weeks.

Aw you just made me appreciate this season a whole lot more. I love it already. It’s winter I’m not so fond of because of all the snow in ohio. but then again i love cuddling up in a blanket to get warm. :o) so there’s a positive way for me to look at it lol. and hot chocolate! and snowmen. ok i’m done now…lol. and the way you set up the pumpkins is so cute! one last thing….i expect you’ll let me know if you’re gonna have any new additions to the family?? or still only cats? i haven’t talked to you in ages. comment me on xanga or something and let me know!

that’s such a cute idea! i love the fall…iit’s so festive and creative……i think both of those words could mean the same thing at times, but hey…..we can let that slide
